Truly a rare and exquisite find. Weller made this dinnerware one year only in 1915.The high cost and number of imperfect pieces was challenging. The Zona Apple dinnerware latter became the Franciscan Apple line of Gladding McBean, as a result of Frederic Grant, President of Weller Pottery in 1932, divorcing Sam Weller's daughter Ethel. These pieces, unlike many that one sees for sale, are in excellent condition, no cracks, chips, hairlines and, significantly, no staining. For being over a hundred years old, astonishing. Various marks, including the embossed Weller mark, the Weller backstamp, and one piece even has the original factory printed label. Over the years we have been very selective in collecting these extremely hard to find pieces in this condition. This set belongs in a Museum, but it's too beautiful not to use. 14 7 1/2 Salad Plates. 9 5 1/2 Soup Bowls. 7 12 1/5 Handled Chop Plates.
